Questions

Dear Aspiring Author and Friend,

The key to growing your writing business is choosing your questions well.

For example, when something doesn’t quite work out, don’t ask:

  • Why does this always happen to me?
  • What did I do to deserve this?
  • What’s wrong with me?

The moment we state these questions, our minds start serving up answers. It’s automatic. we can’t even stop it from happening. The mind answers by reinforcing the negative.

For example, if you say, “What did I do to deserve this?” Your mind quickly tells you why… the reason being is that it feels you want the negative answer. Whatever the question, the answers reinforce the negative and hands us the excuse all wrapped up for why we deserve not to get the better results we want.

If we stop ourselves and ask questions in a positive way.. we might just get a better result.

For example, you could say…

  • How can I make myself more deserving… how can I be of more help?
  • How can I turn my liabilities into great assets and shine?

These are constructive, positive, helpful questions. They empower us to create new possibilities. They give us a call to action and they help produce better results.
